On Friday, Tulin Akin was announced as one of four new High-Tech Fellows at Ashoka. Her company, TarimsalPazarlama.Com, is Turkey’s first agricultural e-commerce and communication platform. Ashoka describes the company saying, “it gives farmers the up-to-date information, know-how, skills and professional development they need, while also creating opportunities for them to reach alternative markets by bypassing traditional intermediary structures.”
The site has gained 200,000 internet and 700,000 mobile subscribers to date. Tulin is revolutionizing Turkish agriculture and the funds she receives to scale will undoubtedly add to those numbers and further TarimsalPazarlama’s impact.
